The Ford GT is Going to Have at Least 700 Horsepower
When we last spoke about the upcoming Ford GT, we talked about how light, and how much torque the car would likely have when it finally debuted to the public. Now, after many rumors and guesses by the entire automotive community, Ford spoke to Car & Driver about the upcoming supercar and the news from them is absolutely astonishing.
According to C&D, the new Ford GT will not pack the 600 horsepower that was originally stated, but rather it will have at least 700 horsepower. That blows past the McLaren 650S, the Porsche 911 GT2, the Ferrari 488 GTB, and the Lamborghini Huracan. Meaning that the Ford will be the most powerful of the bunch.
However with that news, the likelihood of it costing as much as a Lamborghini Aventador seems more plausible. Right now, Lamborghini’s Aventador costs on average $400,000. While we don’t have a doubt that the new Ford GT won’t be sold out in a manner of minutes, it definitely takes the blue collar nature out of the supercar that the last iteration kept.
We’re still a ways out till we get our hands on Ford’s latest supercar, so stay tuned for more information as it continues to leak out.
