F-550 Trucks Give Naval Special Operations an Added Touch of Badass

By -

U.S. military delivers tougher-than-tough Ford F-550 trucks to the Armed Forces of the Philippines for critical combat missions.

It’s no secret that Ford builds the toughest trucks in the world. It’s also no secret that we have the greatest and strongest military on this planet. But, as much as we are tough, we’re equally kind-hearted folks who share our plentiful resources with our closest allies. Take for examples our buddies in the Armed Forces of the Philippines Naval Special Operations Group (NAVSOG), who recently took delivery of a dozen Ford F-550 trucks transferred by the United States government.

NAVSOG is a lot like our very own Navy SEALS. Both operate and train in the same grueling manner, and often times together. Both are highly skilled in awesome qualities like sabotage, psychological and unconventional warfare, and they’re also good at blowing stuff up. So, it only makes sense that we would make sure these badasses have some badass equipment, such as the Ford F-550s that just joined their arsenal.

According to an official statement from the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines, these trucks will serve an important role in the country’s armed forces. That includes improving mobility among NAVSOG units in the country and the surrounding areas of Tawi-Tawi, Zamboanga, and Davao.

The Ford F-550 trucks will also help transport and deploy the military’s rigid-hulled inflatable boats, which were also provided by the United States. The 2016 Ford F-550 is capable of towing up to 26,600 pounds in fifth-wheel configuration and offer the longevity and reliability that every government can appreciate.

It’s good to see our military strengthening their bonds with key allies around the world.
