Ford F-150 Flexes Its Massive V8: Tire Smokin’ Tuesday
If a truck’s engine could be compared to human biceps, this F-150 would earn the “Biggest guns of the show” award.
This week’s “Tire Smokin’ Tuesday” video comes to us courtesy of Anything with an engine media, and it features a 12th generation Ford F-150 (2009-2014) pickup. The massive white Ford is getting in on the action at the 2017 Rod Benders burnout competition in Coleman, Michigan. But before we go any further, we’d like to compliment the show organizers for the concrete barriers surrounding the truck, making things extra safe for spectators.
There aren’t any details on this F-150, but we can tell from the sound that it’s fitted with a V8 engine. Plus, it’s easy to see that it has a set of large aftermarket wheels and tires. The truck appears to sit considerably higher than a stock F-150, which gives us the idea that it’s modified for off-roading – yet it still does an incredible burnout.
The action begins with the Ford pickup sitting in the concrete-lined burnout box when the driver is given the go-ahead to begin roasting the tires. As soon as the rears begin to spin, smoke shoots hard from both sides and a cloud quickly collects around the back of the truck. Unfortunately, the official standing near blows the air horn to stop the run after only 10 seconds or so. Maybe it was just too badass?
The video doesn’t reveal how well this F-150 did in the burnout competition, but if every competitor got a 10-second run, this smoke show had to be among the best.
