Ford Everest Video Has Us Drooling for the New Bronco

By -

It’s not quite the new Bronco, but our guess is that it’s pretty darn close!

For a brief time earlier this year, Ford fans were thrown into a frenzy over an unfounded internet rumor. You see, an alleged “insider” claimed that the new Bronco would be nothing but a rebadged Everest, which is a mid-size SUV Ford sells in other countries. Shortly thereafter, a collective sigh of relief was heard across the nation when Ford’s executive vice president of product development Raj Nair, shot down the rumor.

That being said, building an Everest-based Bronco might not be such a bad thing. The Everest is a body-on-frame vehicle with hardcore off-road chops. As Nair describes it, an “Explorer type SUV with enhanced off-road capability for the rest of the world.” Confusingly enough, both the Everest and Bronco are/will be built on the Ranger platform, so there’s that.

We advice you to envision a Bronco body instead of the Everest while you watch this new Ford ad. The action-packed video shows the SUV traversing some seriously tough terrain, including three-wheeling through trenches, snow, and mountain ranges. Heck, it even pulls off a very Land Rover-like move and goes hood-deep in water.

The video is sure to please all the off-roading aficionados out there, who can now sleep peacefully knowing that if the new Bronco is equally as capable as the Everest, we’re in for a heck of time!
