The hottest Pony Car just got even hotter. Ford has announced that it’s making even more features standard on the 2017 Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang, and adding three more new colors to the line up.

One of the biggest changes for 2017 is the addition of originally optional, Track Package, as a standard feature, which makes the most-capable Mustang, even more capable at a lower price. The new standard Track Package features aluminum tower-to-tower brace, high-downforce deckled spoiler, engine oil, transmission and differential coolers, and the mighty MagneRide  damping system.

Ford also expanded its technology and comfort offerings for the Shelby GT350 and GT350R, which now include an Electronics Package with SYNC 3, voice-activated navigation and nine-speaker audio system, while the Convenience Package includes the same options, but replaces the manual Recaro race seats with leather-trimmed power sport seats, which is actually a really smart move considering I found the Recaros to be painful to live with during my week long test.

Lastly, Ford is cranking up the eye-candy level with fresh and vibrant paint schemes, such as Ruby Red Metallic, Lightning Blue and Grabber Blue. Gone with the wind are, Deep Impact Blue and Competition Orange.

Funny enough, the Shelby GT350R started as a hardcore, lightweight, track-weapon, and can now be configured with more comfortable seats, more technology, and even back seats! Some of you may find this obnoxious, but I think options are great for everyone. Want a lightweight track car? Good, Ford can build you one. Want a badass daily-driver muscle car? Ford can build you one too.

It seems like you can have your cake and eat it too?
