Van Fans – More Families are Switching to the Ford Transit

By -

If anyone had told me five or even three years ago that vans would eventually make a comeback (specially as family vehicles) I would’ve laughed in your face and maybe even throw popcorn at you. I would’ve considered it total blasphemy.

As of June of this year, large families have helped Ford to a 30 percent year-over-year increase in Transit passenger wagon sales. Not only that, but to prove me extra-wrong, Transit vans outsold every other van in the States over the first half of 2016, and that’s including minivans!

Now, I’m a big cargo/commercial van lover and I totally go for it every time I get the chance to preach van love, but I’ve always known that with crossover and SUV demand as strong as it has been, is, and will be, there simply isn’t much room for more in the family-transportation spectrum. Thankfully, I’m wrong.

The Ford Transit passenger wagon can be configured in up to 64 different ways, including various engines, roof-heights, body-lengths, wheel bases and seating configurations. Therefore making them an excellent option for large families, or families that simply love having the room and flexibility to do it all.

The Hoyt family from Ohio is one of the many across the country that are switching their traditional minivans with a Transit passenger wagon, as this video from Ford shows.

It’s nice to see I’m not alone in my quest to share the van love!
