Ford F-150 Special Service Vehicle is Impressive!
Ford unveiled its new F-150 Special Service Vehicle and we must say, it’s quite impressive. The automaker created this custom truck outfitted with police and emergency services in mind. Totally worth taking a look at!
With a deleted console and center seat there is more free space for storing their gear, plus a high-output 240-amp alternator to help keep any added electronic equipment running, such as police lights, radios, computers and there electronics. Perfect when the truck is just idling or hanging out for a stakeout.
Agencies have the opportunity to choose between a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 or a 5.0-liter V8, plus choose 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrains. The five-o can roll around in SuperCrew and SuperCab versions, both with the carpet and rear seat upholstery replaced with easy clean vinyl. Who knows what craziness takes place in the back of a police car, but this should make for an easy clean-up.
Though exact pricing has not been revealed, the F-150 SSV is based on the F-150 XL, which has a starting price of around $32,000 for a V8-powered SuperCrew.
As the video describes: “Rough Country’s in-house research and development shop regularly outputs custom trucks and SUV’s from mild to wild. This 2016 Ford F-150 Police Truck from the Newbern Police Department in Newbern, TN received a Rough Country 2-inch Leveling Kit, Wheel to Wheel Nerf Steps with Bed Access Step, 20-inch Black Series LED Light Bar, and Hard Tri-Fold Bed Cover. It was also outfitted with 295/70R18 Nitto Trail Grapplers wrapped around the stock wheels.”
Watch out, bad guys!
