F-150 Seats Now Made from REPREVE Recycled Water Bottles
Ford takes the environment seriously. In developing the 2015 Ford F-150 out of aluminum, they needed to develop news ways to recycle the material to make it cost effective and environmentally friendly. But they didn’t stop there.
For years, Ford brought recycled plastic to the seats of their cars, but for 2015 Ford is now offering the F-150 with seats made from REPREVE. REPREVE is recycled material used for fabric that consists primarily of water bottles.
According to Ford, by using REPREVE in the 2015 F-150, they’ll save over 5 million plastic bottles from entering landfills every year.

Recycled water bottles aren’t the only environmentally-friendly materials going into their vehicles. Ford has done extensive research with using plant and organic material in automotive components as well. In testing, these components hold up just as well, or better, than the non-recyclable materials that were used before.
REPREVE fabric is just one of the many ways the new 2015 Ford F-150 is the truck of the future!
