Custom Ford Raptor Trades Work Boots for Golden Sandals
Owner-commissioned Ford Raptor build ready to hit the beach after carving a few canyons near the Pacific Ocean.
The 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor is the off-road MMA fighter of many enthusiasts’ dreams. The 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 under the hood puts out more horsepower and torque than the 6.2-liter V8 it replaced. All that power is then carried through the electronic 10-speed automatic transmission to the independent coil-spring suspension out front, and electronic-locking diff 4.10 axle with leaf springs in the back, which is then transferred to the asphalt or gravel via the Raptor’s set of BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires mounted on 17-inch aluminium wheels.
And while the wheels look tough, they’re not as flashy as they could be. Enter Los Angeles-based Platinum Motorsport. The customizer has worked on everything from Ferraris to Benzes, and now, this particular Raptor.
Though few details about the build were given by Platinum Motorsport or its owner, J. Bell, one detail definitely stands out: the gold wheels. All four corners were graced with wheels from Miami-based Vossen Wheels, specifically their Vossen Forged S17-02s in Vintage Rose.
There are likely some goodies from Ford Performance added or planned for this Raptor build (hinted by the tags related to the build on Platinum Motorsport’s Instagram), but that’s a mystery to unravel for another day. For now, this Raptor is ready to hit the beach with style.
