Classic 1979 Ford Bronco is a Small Wonder
Vintage Bronco is a little bit of rough and ready fun. Just don’t call it a toy….
Model company Traxxas has just introduced a new radio controlled 1979 Ford Bronco. This mini Bronco has remarkable details, and reminds us just how badass the 1970s Bronco is. The trucks come in the period-perfect Sunset or red model. To show off how tough and able-bodied the Bronco is, Traxxas released a very cool video of the 4×4 proving itself as an impressive crawler and off-roader.
One thing that stands out is the detail and realism that went into the 1/10 scale model. The Officially Licensed Ford Bronco Body includes a spot-on replication of the grill, chrome bumpers, side mirrors, clear front and side windows, chrome side trim, wipers, and more. It is 20.57 inches long, with a front and rear track of 9.78 inches and is lifted at 10.47 inches. It also comes 2.4GHz 4-channel radio system, XL-5 HV speed control, hi/low transmission, remote locking differentials, and painted body. Yeah, it’s well done and fairly kickass, just like the full scale Bronco.
This bad boy was meant to be taken out and put to the test. According to Traxxas, “Underneath the authentic scale look is a machine built for extreme off-road capability that takes you to new places and new adventures. Exclusive portal axles deliver maximum ground clearance that dramatically turns ‘no way’ into ‘no problem.'”
This might just be good, albeit little, fix for us until Ford finally releases the 2020 Bronco.
