Chris Harris Loves the New Mustang
Part of the global “One Ford” initiative is bringing many of the products that the Europeans get over to our shores, except the Ranger. But it should also be noted that some of our distinctly American products, like the Mustang, are going in the other direction and heading the Europe. Famous British man Chris Harris just flogged the European version, and loved it!
The new Mustang is being sold in Europe and the UK and for the first time is available in right-hand drive. In addition to the steering wheel being able to be ordered on the wrong side of the car, there are other subtle differences between the two versions, including the taillights.
Harris spends a lot of time on both sides of the pond driving the latest and greatest performance machines, and he starts out liking the Mustang but still pointing out that it’s not as refined as the European counterparts. That old trope might still be true, but the new Mustang has come a long way in interior refinement.
But one thing all gearheads can appreciate is a big V8. Harris loves the noise it makes and the grunt it offers. At £35,000 it’s a pretty good deal for that much power and the awesome sound of the 5.0L V8.
Once you turn the electronic nannies off, the car becomes a big, lovable drift machine. Beyond the limit, the car is much more refined than Harris originally thought, and he loved it.
See, drifting makes everyone happy!
