Truck Nationals

Blue Oval vehicles spent some time doing donuts, burning rubber, and picking up a lots of trophies at Pennsylvania event.

The 2018 Carlisle Truck Nationals event was held last weekend, Aug. 3-5, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and as is the case at every big truck show, Ford vehicles were among the most popular models on display. This year’s event was reportedly the third largest show in the past decade at Carlisle, with nearly 2,000 trucks of all makes and models hitting the venue for one of the most exciting annual truck shows in the country.

In addition to showcasing hundreds upon hundreds of attention-grabbing vehicles, the Carlisle Truck Nationals also awarded the best of the best. And, of course, quite a few Ford truck owners walked away with the top awards, including Nick Szczerba (pictured below) and his 1979 Ford F-250, which won the burnout contest, and Michael Shea and his 2006 Ford F-250 Harley Supercrew, a Harley-Davidson-themed showstopper that won the kid’s choice award. Among the prestigious 2018 Carlisle Elite Winners group was Todd Cassler and his 1964 Ford F-100 and Bart Kilraine and his 1979 Ford E‐350 4×4 Van. And the Vanarama Award for “Best Ford Van” went to Jim Fry and Donna Hart for their 2010 Ford “White Knight” van. The “White Knight” also racked up additional awards for best interior and best display, while the Vanarama Award for “Best in Show” went to Ken and Deb Schwarz for their 1974 Ford “Lethal Chop” van.
