Carlisle Ford Nationals Gets Even Bigger in 2018
World’s largest Ford-themed weekend preps for record-breaking event with Bitchin’ Rides star Dave Kindig, June 1-3 in Pennsylvania.
The all-Ford event Carlisle Ford Nationals is the largest get-together if its kind, attracting a global audience of auto enthusiasts lured by the rare and unique rides on display that span the entire history of the Blue Oval. The epicenter of all things Ford is presented by Meguiar’s and is will be happening June 1-3 at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in Pennsylvania.
It’s hard to spotlight just one star attraction, as the entire weekend is basically an all-star event featuring a who’s who of cars and industry star power. There is a bevy of displays though, featuring 3,000-plus Ford vehicles, including a unique Ford Tractor showcase and the fourth annual Ford Nationals Select cars. But this just scratches the surface of all the Ford fun that will heat up summer.
Ford recently revealed the company’s plans to bring the new Ranger, all-new California Special Mustang, Bullitt Mustang, Ford GT and Edge ST to Carlisle, too. Aside from major international auto events such as those held in New York City or Detroit, East Coast car lovers have yet to see these sleek, new rides in person.
One of the many highlights of the Carlisle Ford Nationals is the massive Ford-centric swap meet, which provides a treasure trove of finds for enthusiasts of all generations — from new to vintage, and everything in between. Much like the show itself, the swap meet too is the world’s largest of its type.
One of this year’s special guests include Steve Saleen, who will be returning with his biggest footprint ever of Saleen Mustangs. There will also be groups from Ford, Roush, and Shelby, who are sure to have a commanding grip on the ever-expanding midway.
New to the Carlisle Ford Nationals scene this year will be a very special guest: Dave Kindig of Kindig-It Design and the star of Bitchin’ Rides on the Velocity Channel. Kindig is coming to the Carlisle Ford Nationals for the first time ever, making a rare East Coast-event appearance.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to ride and drive with Ford, too, as guests can check out the latest products via free test-drives at the neighboring Carlisle Expo Center, and guests can even participate in various on-site competitions, too.
The Carlisle Ford Nationals culminates with a Saturday night Ford parade in Downtown Carlisle and a Sunday on-site awards parade at the Carlisle Fairgrounds.
