You Can Buy This 1978 F-150 for Half the Restoration Cost

Restorations are a labor of love, and more importantly, a major expense.  Even worse, the return on investment is rarely positive, with a loss almost guaranteed.  The saying “another person’s loss is your gain” is the perfect moniker for those seeking to buy a full on resto from a willing seller.

Case in point – this 1978 F-150.  Listed at just over $15k, it comes with a whopping $30k+ in receipts. That’s a lot of cash to sink into a late 70’s pickup truck, so it was no doubt a labor of love for the previous owner.  And for a prospective buyer, it represents both a good investment and a great value as one of the hottest model years on the market at the moment.

The green and white two tone paint looks great over the extended cab body style, and all the chrome has been redone.  The interior is mostly new and in great shape as well, with no visible problems.  The drivetrain is essentially new, with only 1,000 miles on the 460 big block V8 and 1,500 on the transmission.

Power steering and front disc brakes are a welcome addition on these big old trucks, and the air conditioning has been converted over to R134a.  Overall, it’s a nice package for someone looking to get into the burgeoning classic truck market.  Why invest all of your hard earned money when you can simply let someone else absorb the loss?
