Buy This Bronco: Red Gem With 33k Miles

Looking for a low-mileage, first-generation Bronco you can polish up and enjoy? Look no further.

More and more modified and fancied up first generation Broncos are being found out there, so it’s becoming legitimately harder to find original and untouched examples. This is a real shame, because a stock original Bronco is one of the more charming off-roaders you’ll ever see. For proof, look no further than this 1971 Bronco, which was recently discovered and withdrawn from long-term storage.

We spotted the old four-wheeler on eBay, where it was recently offered up for grabs after a long nap, and we do mean long. Only 300 of the 33,000 original miles have been tacked on since 2002. Otherwise, it had been stored somewhere in New York for decades without any use. The current seller “rescued” it from neglect, and is now offering it without reserve.

The old Bronco looks pretty great as is, and doesn’t call for a full restoration, either. This would be a perfect example to simply freshen up, clean and enjoy! The engine bay is pretty dirty as expected, and there are some paint chips here and there. Obviously, you don’t want to tool around on the original bias ply tires too much, either.

All this neglected Bronco needs is a good buffing, a little paint touching up, dent repairing, and she’ll be shining like new. We’d even leave the vintage plow and blade on there, because they add a little bit of character. Or, simply leave the thing as is and enjoy it.
