The Top Three Ford Builds of 2015
While we can’t speak for everyone, we’d say that 2015 has been pretty good. A lot has happened over the last twelve months that has been both positive and negative, but in the world of Ford trucks everything seems to have been well. We don’t really have much to complain about as we near the end of the year, except for maybe the rather noticeable absence of everything we were promised in Back to the Future Part II.
Even with the last of flying cars, we’re pretty happy. This has been a great year here on FTE, and it seems to have been productive for many of our members. Today we’ll be looking back at the top three builds we have featured on the BUILDUP section of our amazing site, and we hope that you’ll come along for the ride!
Coming in third for our BUILDUP features is a project taken on by FTE member jlincks. The ride is a 1963 Ford F-100 Custom Cab that he obtained in a trade, and it is definitely a worthwhile ride to work on. His plans aren’t as simple as getting it to run, either. While he isn’t hoping for it to be a true show car, he does hope to make it a nice weekend warrior!
Over the last few months jlincks has made significant progress of his ride, which is wonderful to see. With a 289 cubic inch motor from a ’65 Galaxy, 2008 Mustang GT500 wheels, and plans to lower it, this is definitely an amazing build. Go check out all the progress that jlincks has made!
Stealing second in the best builds of the year is a truck that fereo0 is hoping to improve upon! He has been working on a “Glorious 1965 Ford F-100 2WD Short Bed,” which already looks quite appealing! This outstanding ride currently sports a 352 cubic inch motor with a Borg Warner T85-N transmission.
However, fereo0 is hoping to to throw a 289 cubic inch motor with a C4 transmission under the hood of this sky blue beauty! He is also hoping to lower this classic ride, which is not a bad choice! We’re interested in seeing this rig when its complete!
Managing to snag first as the best build of 2015 is a project taken on by 81ChopTop. The rig is a 1981 Ford F-100 with a 460 cubic inch motor, a C6 transmission, a custom built frame, a custom built fuel cell, shaved door handles, a Mustang column, a 3″ stainless steel exhaust, and much, much more! The top is chopped by four inches, and every panel on the ride has been modified in some way.
These are all amazing builds, and we’re glad to say that they were found here on FTE! It’s always great to see when someone sets to work to do something great with their ride, and all these members definitely did that!
