BUILDUP A 1982 Ford F-150 Project Needs Love
Finding the right project truck can be a long and tiring endeavor for many people. The ride has to fall into just the right category of having potential rather than simply being a beater or a lost cause.
This category can change based on who is seeking out the ride, but often times frame damage, severe rust, and various other problems can lead to a ride being junked or left to rot. Yet, if these types of severe issues are not present, the rig is a great candidate for being restored to its former glory!
FTE member F-ReV purchased his new project, a 1982 Ford F-150, about a month ago for $700. It was well worth the money and seems to be a great candidate to be worked on, considering that, despite many mechanical woes, the chassis is in pretty good shape. Still, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a lot of work to be done.
F-ReV has already pulled the old straight six motor, and plans to soon replace it with either a 302 or a 351. He also plans to drop in a new transmission while he’s at it!
