BUILDUP A 1978 Ford F-150 4×4 Project
Some builds move rather quickly. This is often the case when the person working on the rig has all the time, money, and skills that are require for the job available to them. Of course, it can also happen when one is simply very, very determined to get their ride on the road.
These quick builds can be exciting, but that doesn’t mean that they’re the only type of project out there. In fact, we’d say that most people tend to do slower builds, that take place over a rather large stretch of time. Family, work, and social connections often slow the process down, though we wouldn’t say that this is a bad thing. After all, building up an old Ford truck is a fulfilling thing to do, regardless of how long it takes!
FTE member Blee1992 is currently working on building up his 1978 Ford F-150 4×4. Though the previous owner claimed to have dropped in a newly rebuild motor from a 1983 Ford that had only 30,000 miles on it into the old Ford rig, Blee1992 isn’t so sure.
Of course, he is planning on putting in the build 390 motor from his 1976 Ford, so the details about the old engine don’t matter too much. Before he drops in the engine, however, he plans to strip the rig “to the bare bones” and build the ride from the ground up!
Though he has done a speedy build in the past, Blee1992 will be taking his time with this one. Nonetheless, he seems to be getting to work and updating regularly, so go check out his build thread and show your support!
