A 1999 Ford F-350 Camper Build

When it comes to taking on a project truck, it’s always better to enter into the endeavor with a good idea of what you want to do with the ride. That isn’t to say that changing your plan along the way is necessarily bad, but rather that knowing what you’re getting into is the wise thing to do. We admit that this isn’t always entirely possible, but it should certainly be taken into consideration in most cases. After all, knowing what you want to do with the rig can help you form a budget, which is certainly a life saver. After all, who wants to spend $10,000 on a ride they only planned to sink $5,000 into?

FTE member DieselCamper seems to understand the idea of planning, and that’s exactly what he did with his most recent project. The ride that he plans to work on is a 1999 Ford F-350 Crew Cab with a long bed and a 7.3L PowerStroke. With 280,000 miles on the odometer, this ride has been chugging a long time. Of course, the previous owner was a mechanic who kept all of the maintenance records, so it’s clear that this rig is in good shape!

DieselCamper plans to turn the ride into a competent overland camper. Along the way he intends to build a platform in the back for a mattress, make the ride off-road worthy, and keep the motor in good shape! He had already purchased an abundance of parts for the ride, and we can’t wait to see how it turns out!
