Now More than Ever a Bronco is Likely to Happen

By -

Is there a new Ford Bronco coming? According to leaks from the UAW last year, yes it is. But Ford has been tight-lipped on the subject, and there is very little of anything official on the subject. But as we enter June — and meteorological summer — something new has arisen. No, it’s not confirmation that the Bronco is a “go,” but rather more reasons why the Bronco needs to enter production.

Being the first of the month, sales numbers from all the major automakers are released. Ford was down for the month of May, but that doesn’t tell the entire story. However, this tweet from Automotive News‘s Nick Bunkley does;

Here’s the actual breakdown of sales, again from Mr. Bunkley;

That’s a pretty significant drop in sales for cars, but F-Series and Utility sales are up. What this shows is more people are buying utilities and trucks than they are buying cars. This is a trend we’ve known has been happening for awhile.

Ford plans on rolling out new SUVs over the coming years to offer more variety for consumers, and we think now more than ever the Bronco needs to be one of them. Not only do fans what the iconic nameplate back, but a new SUV would give buyers an option and hedge against the loss in sales of cars.
