The Brits Somehow Made Us More Jealous of the Ford Ranger
The want for the not-for-American soil Ford Ranger was already at alarming levels. Like, you could see the slobber dripping off dudes’ chins. But this new custom job from M-Sport, Van Sport, and Carlex Design could create an entirely new deluge of thirst.
The F-150 Raptor look-alike first saw light at the Abenteuer and Allrad off-road trade fair, a 4×4 fest that sees up to 50,000 people come and go, in Germany. It originally started as a Ranger 3.2 TDCi Double Cab 4×4, but the final result is far from a base model.
On the outside, the a front bumper conversion gives the Ranger a skid plate and a more aggressive saber-tooth look. That’s accompanied by an extended rear, bigger plastic wheel arches, and protection underneath (you know, ’cause off-road shenanigans). Smaller upgraded bits include the matte black mirrors, door handles, window strips, side steps, tailgate, and 18-inch graphite wheels. If you want to kick it up another notch, you can order an optional “off-road pack” that will give you Lazer light on the roof cover, and a Pedders 1.75-inch lift kit.
The basic package already comes with a Pedders suspension sport pack and Lazer lights in the grille. The only other performance addition is a sport exhaust. Inside, there are all sorts of beautiful leather goodies from Carlex, which is all protected by privacy glass.
The overall customization was so good that Ford actually picked it up and by September the kit will be in production and at Ford dealerships in Europe.
