Boyd Coddington Custom 1940 Ford Deluxe Woody Could Be Yours

By -

If you ever wanted to own a classic Ford Woody, one of the nicest ones ever created is going up for auction very soon.

This 1940 Ford Deluxe was created by the legendary Boyd Coddington as a show car for Isle Capri Casinos, and it was documented on American Hot Rod for the Discovery Channel.

It may look like a standard Ford Deluxe, but from front to rear and top to bottom every piece of this wagon has been subtly altered.

The most noticeable changes include the new single-piece window and window frame, smoothed engine compartment with louvers, frenched headlights, and of course that amazing Pastel Blue paint and that Vatican-worthy wood work.

The same attention to detail is found inside with a custom tan leather interior, more interior woodwork, and the Boyd Coddington design steering wheel. There is also a cool vintage style gauge cluster.

Motivation for this Woody comes from a Chevy 350 with a pair of four-barrel carbs, all topped off with a Magnaflow exhaust system.

To finish bringing the driving dynamics into the more modern age, there is a four-speed automatic transmission, four wheel independent suspension, power steering, and tucked behind all four of the Boyd Coddington custom wheels is disk brake.

If this sounds like your perfect truck, give Mecum a call and get ready to place your bids. Make sure you bring your big boy wallet, though; estimated sale price is in the $225,000 range.
