Take a behind-the-scenes look at Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s famous Raptor-drifting at the the world’s most famous course.

A couple months ago, Ford Performance published a video of  Vaughn Gittin Jr. drifting around the Nurburgring in a new F-150 Raptor. As a follow-up, the drift champ has shared some behind-the-scenes footage from that unique experience, explaining what was done to the truck to get it sliding around the world’s most famous course.

Back in April, Ford Performance shared a video on their YouTube channel of Vaughn Gittin Jr at the Nurburgring. He had gone over there with the intention of drifting around the massive road course with his competition-ready Ford Mustang, but it rained on their days at the track. Running a competition drift car on the world’s trickiest road course is a bad idea, so Gittin opted not to take his race car around the soggy Nordschleife.

Fortunately, the trip wasn’t a total waste, as Gittin was able to get ahold of a new Ford F-150 Raptor so see if the 450-horsepower pickup would drift. Turns out that it drifts well, so the crew made a video of the Mustang drifter drifting in an F-150. That short video explained why he was driving the truck instead of his Mustang, but today, we bring you a new video from Gittin’s YouTube channel from that day at the track – this time giving us a behind-the-scenes look at how it all went down.
