Be One of the First in America to Drive the 2019 Ford Ranger!
‘Ford Ranger Drive Tour’ offers chance to drive — and win — new Ford truck before it hits dealers.
Ford Motor Company has announced that starting in November 2018, the “Ford Ranger Drive Tour” will give the general public the chance to drive the all-new midsize pickup. These drive opportunities will come before the trucks are available in dealerships. So, if you sign up on RangerDrive, you could be one of the first people in the United States to drive the 2019 Ford Ranger. Also, participating in the event includes a chance to win one of the new trucks, so this tour offers a unique chance to drive and maybe even win an unreleased vehicle.
The Drive Tour Trucks
It is unclear what kind of driving attendees will get to do, but they will be driving the 2019 Ford Ranger with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine and the 10-speed automatic transmission. The trucks will be decked-out with the FX4 Off-Road package and the Terrain Management System, with hands-on displays of how the various features make this midsized trucks better than the competition. For example, one of the technologies that will be featured is the Trail Control system, which controls the engine, transmission, and brakes at low speed in particularly tough footing, allowing the driver to focus on steering while the truck works on getting traction.
In addition to the driving opportunities, the Ranger Drive Tour will have interactive displays, streaming videos and the available accessories for the new truck. In other words, attendees will learn everything that there is to know about the new Ford Ranger while also getting to drive it, presumably in some staged off-road-type conditions.
The Ford Ranger Drive Tour begins on November 9th at locations in Washington and North Carolina. There are currently a total of 15 events planned through the end of 2018, with stops at a variety of locations in California, Texas, Arizona, Florida and Georgia. The map below shows the basic locations, but if you check out the website for the tour, you can check out a full list of event locations and dates.
You can also sign up to win a 2019 Ranger on the website without attending the events, but if you are interested in being one of the first people in the United States to drive the new midsized Ford pickup, you will want to sign up right away and begin planning your travel to the nearest tour location.
Finally, the Drive Tour website has a new video of the 2019 Ranger, plus it lists more details on the tour and shows the new truck storming through all sorts of rough conditions.
