Ask the Magic 8 Ball: Will We See the Bronco in New York?
The New York International Auto Show is in just over a week, and we’ll be there to bring you the latest. But will the latest also include the brand new Ford Bronco that we’re eventually expecting to see? Let’s shake up the Magic 8 Ball and ask!
Earlier this year we shared with you a logical timeline for release, and it’s just too early. But that doesn’t mean that we’re right, so let’s look at other possible evidence.
First off, we haven’t seen anything leaked from Ford. While we know Ford is capable of keeping a secret for awhile, just look at the Ford GT, we would’ve expected someone to not keep their mouths shut. We haven’t heard anything on the Ranger or Bronco front, and considering they’d most likely share a similar platform, there should be some leaks.
Next, it’s just a little bit too early. Ford lately has been revealing concepts of major vehicles between one and two years of the on sale date. The plant in Michigan won’t be available until 2018, and it’ll take time to retool and train employees to build the new vehicles.
Finally, New York just doesn’t feel like the right show for the Bronco. Debuting in Detroit gives Ford the home field for their announcement, and it would carry more significance being made there.
Of course, we could be wrong, but I’m not holding my breath for a New York reveal.
