Are Pre-Recession Ford F-150 Owners Jerks?

Let’s face it, every car and truck has its set of people that normal fans and buyer hate. They are called fanboys and in their eyes their favorite can do no wrong.

In the F-150 world, it would seem that most of them gravitate to the eleventh generation that was in production from 2004 to 2008. But is that true? Are pre-recession F-150 owners really such a loathing breed of Ford owners?

Jalopnik writer, Raphael Orlove, described the 04 to 08 F-150 as “flat and devoid of character, but they still lumber around like they are glowing visions of exceptionalism.” Though, he does speculate that’s part of the reason why they are still very popular with fanboys.

Regular Car Review, however, says it’s the truck for the “I’m country girls,” the ones who say they are but live in the city. RCR was able to get ahold of a mostly stock example and give his full thoughts in this video.

So, from your experience in the real world and even our forums, are pre-recession F-150 owners cocky fanboys or is that an over played stereotype by jealous Chevy owners?
