1973 Ford F-100 Prerunner: Instagram Spotlight
While some ’70s Ford pickups get waxed on a weekly basis, this badass 1973 F-100 gets a grille-full of dirt every weekend.
All it takes to find a pristine, investor-grade Ford F-100 pickup nowadays is a few keystrokes and a couple of clicks. eBay, Craigslist, you name it — they can be found all over the place, and in all kinds of colors and price-points. If you’re looking for a show-stopping F-100 for your local cruise night, it won’t take you very long to find one.
If you’re looking for a sample that’ll allow you to tackle dirt trails at speed rather than cruise along Route 66, you’ll have to look really hard, or simply build your own. Such is the case of this rather mysterious 1973 Ford F-100 we found on Instagram.
Dubbed “The Abellana,” the only piece of information offered is “The Ryan,” which we can only deduct is the owner’s name. In fact, we had to scan the comments and other related accounts in order to find some “dirt” on this lovely truck.
Aside from the front grille, we don’t believe anything else in this ’73 F-100 has been left untouched. The extended-cab beauty rocks a purpose-built racing engine, a high-travel Fox racing suspension, BF Goodrich tires, and a racing fuel cell. Keeping up the secretive theme of this Instagram account, there’s no mention of what kind of motor, horsepower, or any other specs this bad boy puts out.
The only reference made to the Abellana’s motor involves the builder, whose Instagram account also doesn’t share any details on the build. It feels like the owner is purposely keeping a lid on the truck’s specs, and we totally respect that.
After all, it doesn’t take much to realize just how badass (and expensive) this thing is. Enjoy!
