3.5-Liter EcoBoost Wins At 12 Hours of Sebring

All of us in the know know that the EcoBoost is a good engine (despite it’s early missteps). It’s quickly become Ford’s go-to performance workhorse. The F-150 has it. The Mustang’ll probably have some kind of EcoBoost option. Ford even lent it out for use in Riley prototype cars… One of which went on to win the 12 Hours of Sebring.

Not bad for a truck engine huh?

Whats really notable is that this is the first endurance racing win from the EcoBoost. Remember, Ford ran the engine in their prototype F-150 for the Baja 1000. They didn’t win that race, but they also weren’t racing to win. Their goal was to show that Ecoboost is bulletproof. A win at Sebring just supports that bit of wishful thinking.
