2017 Ford Escape Has Available Windshield Wiper De-Icer
When the 2017 Ford Escape arrives in dealerships this spring, it will change the way drivers see winter.
A Cold Weather Package, available on SE models and standard on Escapes in the Titanium trim level, includes all-weather floor mats, heated side mirrors and seats, and a supplemental heater for the powertrain. The package’s windshield wiper de-icer should keep the view out of the windshield nice and clear of snow clumps and streaks thanks to a heating element in the glass right where the wipers sit.
Ford says the de-icer is “designed to clear light snow and ice from the wiper blades in under 10 minutes at minus 18 degrees Fahrenheit.” It’s also able to work in conjunction with the Escape’s available SYNC Connect and the FordPass mobility platform. Using tha setup, Escape drivers can remotely start their vehicles and get their wipers de-iced before they even hit the road.
Look for the 2017 Escape in showrooms this spring – and the Cold Weather Package’s wiper de-icer on other Ford models in the future.
