2003 Ford Super Duty F250 Review
The 2003 Ford Super Duty F250 was upgraded with a new 6.0L Power Stroke turbo diesel V8 engine, an optional 5-speed TorqShift automatic transmission, and the FX4 Off-Road and XLT Sport packages with more available colors. The 2003 F250 also includes a number of improvements to XL models and with an additional exterior color from last year. New options include heated telescoping trailer tow mirrors with integrated turn signal, power sliding moon roof, and a vinyl front seat.
The 2003 is available in a basic black, chestnut metallic, arizona beige, dark highland green, oxford white, red, sonic blue, toreador red, and true blue. Also available is a snowplough package, adjustable foot pedals for all Lariat and XLT models, and a separate driver/front passenger climate control feature. A sunroof and traction control is an available option with King Ranch models.
The standard engine offered with 2003 F250s is a 5.4L 260 hp 16-valve gas engine producing 350 ft lbs of torque @ 2500 rpm. A 7.3L 250hp 16-valve diesel engine producing 505 ft lbs of torque @ 1600 rpm or a 5.9L 325hp 32-value diesel engine producing 560 ft lbs of torque @ 2000 rpm are available options for King Ranch models. A 6.8L 310hp 20-valve gas engine producing 425 ft lbs of torque @ 3250 rpm is optional for all 2003 models. For all except the King Ranch, there is the option of a 6.0L 325hp 32-valve diesel engine.
A 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission is standard for King Ranch and optional for all other models. The standard transmission in all 2003 F250 pickups (except the King Ranch) is a 6-speed manual overdrive transmission. The optional transmission for all 2003 pickups is a 5-speed manual overdrive transmission.
A radio, tachometer, and tilt steering column come standard with all 2003 Ford Super Duty F250 pickups.
