1999 F-150

If you needed proof that the Ford F-250 is a long-lasting truck, look no further than the surprising odometer.

We were checking out some Ford trucks online and we came across big, bad Bertha. Bertha is the name of this 7.3 L powered 1999 Ford F-250. But while Bertha is good looking gal, that’s not the story. Check out the odometer.

At 400,000 miles, this truck is still going strong. The proof was posted on Reddit by Honey Badger Panda with the best headline: “Your move, Chevy/Dodge.” Even more impressive is that after so many miles, the truck has needed very little work outside of routine maintenance, and one replaced clutch.

Honey Badger Panda said, “I wanna upgrade to a 2014 but can’t convince myself to do it.” When others asked what is the secret to the F-250’s longevity, he said, “Stick to the maintenance record and try not to abuse them too much. This truck has been serviced every 5k miles since she was bought. She wasn’t abused or messed with.” A solid Ford truck, a conscientious owner, and a little TLC seems to keep ol’ Bertha going along.

Trucks like this show that there is a good reason Ford can say they are “Built to Last.”
