How much would you pay for a solid ’97 Ford F-250 crew cab, auto, short bed, four-wheel drive diesel pickup?

Buying and selling trucks is an interesting game. Mainly because values rise and fall, ebb and flow, depending on a large number of factors. We’re getting to the point where Ford trucks built even just 20 years ago are drawing the interest of enthusiasts and collectors alike. Thus, values are steadily rising. So you can’t blame a guy like Reddit user Coltuhhhn for wondering just what his 1997 Ford F-250 is actually worth these days.

The crew cab, short bed, Power Stroke pickup is undoubtedly cool in our book. It’s also a four-wheel drive with an automatic transmission. The Ford F-250 even has relatively low mileage, just 153k. The interior is reportedly very clean, and it has no reported issues outside of one rear brake that tends to lock up. Aftermarket goodies include a stereo redo and a 4-inch lift with wheels and 35-inch tires.

So it’s no surprise that most commenters suggest that the OP keep the truck. And they do a pretty good job of convincing him. Especially when he admits that he paid $8,000 for it in the first place. One commenter claims to have recently purchased a similar Ford F-250 for only $2k. Another’s been looking for something like this for a while now and has seen them selling for anywhere from $20-$28k.

Which might just be enough to pry this sweet Ford F-250 away from the OP, if someone’s willing to pay that steep price. So far, it seems like perceived values of the truck are all over the place. So we want to know -what do you think this F-250 is worth? Let us know in the comments below!
