This 1978 F-250 is Ready to Sling Mud in Style
Trucks built to play in the mud aren’t typically what you would consider, well, attractive. Which is quite fine, because they are purpose built vehicles with really only one purpose in mind – to go out and have some fun on the weekends.
Every once in a while you find a truck that breaks the mold, of course, like this 1978 F-250. It’s a fantastic looking truck that most would be afraid to rag out in the sloppy stuff, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t capable of doing so.
The classic Ford sits high thanks to a 6″ lift and Super Swampers, which are attached to Dana 60 front and rear axles. Yukon heavy duty shocks keep things from getting too bouncy, and heavy duty bumpers with a winch up front will bail you out in case they do.
Power is provided in spades thanks to a rebuilt 460, and a shift kit in the automatic transmission provides quick and snappy shifts.
Overall, it’s a clean looking, classic truck that you can have some fun with on the weekends. Or, you can simply show it off in its current condition. That’s the true definition of dual purpose, and what better platform is there than a 70’s Ford truck?
