Ranch Racing With a 1967 Ford F-100 & 1989 Volkswagen Van
One Ford F-100, one VW van, one empty field, one heck of a time!
In this oldie-but-goodie episode of Dirt Every Day, Fred Williams pays a visit to his buddy Frank, who owns a 1967 Ford F-100 PreRunner. The sweet Ford truck is heavily modified, and makes us wish we had one like it on our driveways.
Described as “the quintessential desert truck” by the owner, the two friends plan to wake the beast up from its slumber and get it race ready. However, after sitting for a few years, the PreRunner needed a bit of TLC before seeing any sweet jumps. With Frank set on using his trusty F-100 for the battle of the buds, Fred needs a truck of his own. In an attempt to embarrass Frank, Fred chooses to go with something his old friend would never expect: A 1989 Volkswagen Vanagon.
So there you have it, a Ford F-100 PreRunner up against a VW Van that’s not exactly made for off-roading. Knowing Fred, he’ll cook something up in the shop to make his van somewhat competitive.
