This 1966 Ford Falcon Commercial is a Blast from the Past

In an era when we’re starting to focus more on the technology inside our cars more than suspensions, engines and transmissions, it’s quite hilarious to see a TV commercial from 1966 when even the most basic features were a huge deal.

This TV spot would’ve been run by Ford between fall of 1965 and summer of 1966 to advertise the ongoing Ford Falcon compact sedan and wagon. Or as the video describes it, a “sleek-top new wagon.”

As if some of the terminology and music used on this commercial couldn’t get any cheesier, the folks at the marketing office thought that an actual Falcon (the animal) flying to its owner while driving down a dirt road on a Ford Falcon would really seal the deal for potential customers. I can on only say: LOL

How will future generations see our current car commercials?
