1966 Ford F-100 is a Black Beauty Done Right
Black is a notoriously difficult color to paint a vehicle, because it shows every single flaw. This not only shows on the paint work, but the body work as well. If you somehow screwed something up, it will undoubtedly show up as soon as that shiny dark paint dries. On the other hand, if you do things right like the owner of this 1966 F-100 did, you can rest assured that you will have a fine looking truck. A real black beauty.
Black is a fantastic color choice for ’60s Ford pickups, as it complements their amazing lines perfectly. The abundance of chrome doesn’t hurt either, creating a timeless look that is sure to turn heads. Though this truck may not be perfect, it’s obvious that someone put forth the time and effort necessary to pull it off.
Aside from its great looks, this ’66 is a solid driver in all other regards. A 390 big block rests under the clamshell hood, with a 3-speed manual transmission ready to row behind it. The interior is an interesting exercise in retro stitching, but isn’t repulsive by any means.
The engine bay is clean but begging for a set of chrome headers to replace the rusty and stock exhaust manifolds. With a little bit of TLC and a few bucks, this could be one seriously awesome truck that you can be proud to show off. The hard work is already done (and looking quite fine I must say), so you can be free to focus on taking this black beauty to the next level!
