Muscle Trucks Do It Best – A 1966 Ford F-100

By -

The 60’s were arguably the pinnacle of the automotive industry. While modern cars and trucks are faster on average, the era of muscle was no doubt exciting. The best cars and trucks produced during this golden decade are still among the most sought after and valuable ever produced, pf any era.

Ford was no exception to this rule, and the 60’s saw the birth of the Mustang – the original pony car.  But they were also building some pretty awesome trucks, and in 1965 they started offering the 352 V8 as an option, replacing the 292. The displacement war would rage on until the introduction of the 460 in 1973.

The owner of this 1966 F-100 decided to introduce that giant big block to his classic truck, which is a marriage seemingly made in heaven. The big lump is also fuel injected, and other mods have obviously been made but aren’t specified.

Emerald green looks fantastic on the timeless 60’s lines, and classic Cragar five spokes fit the theme of this hot rodded truck perfectly, as does the green and white interior which is largely stock, yet period perfect.

This ’66 is the best representation of why we need more hot rod trucks. With prodigious torque and a throwback look, it’s something anyone would love to see more of.
