There was a time when few people wanted a four-wheel drive pickup. Which makes trucks like this F-100 a rare sight today!

Four-wheel drive, while a hugely popular option on pickups of today, was once an afterthought. In fact, Ford built trucks for decades before finally throwing in the towel and building 4x4s themselves. Instead of farming out the conversions as they did for years. But even then, factory-built 4×4 pickups from the early days weren’t hugely popular. And thus, trucks like this 1964 Ford F-100 are pretty darn rare.

Especially when they’re as nice as this one. According to the seller, this blue beauty only has 38,286 miles on the odometer, and it sure looks that way. Aside from the typical wear and normal patina, this thing looks like it could have just rolled off the factory floor. Combine that with the fact that only a little over 2,000 Styleside 4x4s were built in 1964, and you’ve got a real winner.
