Truckin’ Hot: Vintage Ford Flatbed & Matching Model A
Custom 1953 Ford Cab-Over Truck Hauling Model A Hot Rod Is Everything that’s Right with the World
Ford trucks have a certain charm to them. Whether stock, or modified, the big grilles and luscious curves ooze Americana like it’s going out of style — which it is. Perhaps that’s why we can’t help but fall in love with the duo we’ve brought before you.
Known as a 1953 Ford Cab-Over Flatbed truck, this sheet metal monster started out in life most likely as a heavy-duty tow or freight truck. The Ford Model A sitting in the back most likely starts out as, well, a Ford Model A. Regardless of what their past was like, their present is much more exciting and we can’t help but stare and drool.
We came across this AWESOME video by GrinderTV, and proceeded to dig a little deeper and find more information on them. Despite the description mentioning the duo going up for sale at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, it took us a while to find a profile for it on the web. Once found, we learned just how customized these bad boys really are. Not that we couldn’t tell from the video, of course.
The list of all modifications is probably lengthier, but here’s what we officially know has taken place:
- 22″ Custom dually wheels
- Cummins Turbo 6B engine polished and powder-coated
- Automatic transmission
- 6″Custom exhaust stacks wrapped in heat tape
- Custom tilt-flatbed with custom Mac tie-down straps
- Custom JL Stereo sound system
- New thicker glass windows
- Stained wooden deck
- Winch
- Custom patina look paint job
The duo recently sold for what we believe is a bargain price of $137,500. It doesn’t take an expert to know that the custom fabrication and accessories alone cost a lot more than that!
Done drooling?
