1948 Ford F1 Project Has Loads of Potential
A halted restoration in process has this classic Ford F1 in limbo. Now it just needs someone to finish it.
There’s just no denying the appeal of the original F-Series pickups – the Ford F1. Never before did any truck combine such gorgeous styling and modern comfort. Which, when you reflect back on things today, makes you understand how trucks like this ’48 are responsible for kicking off the most successful line of pickups ever produced. And now this little red beauty is up for grabs in the FTE Marketplace.
At least, it used to be red. The picture above shows the 1948 Ford F1 the day it came home. After driving it for 2 years, the poster tore it apart and stripped off the paint, which he says was poorly done. The truck also had some rust and wiring issues, so why not just redo everything? He proceeded to rebuild the original 239-inch Flathead, transmission, and rear end.
The package is now offered up with everything else needed for completion, save for the bed and rear fenders. Otherwise, pretty much everything is there. New front fenders, wiring harness, wheels/tires, floor pan, firewall, etc. Even the brakes are finished, so you won’t have to worry about fiddling with those things.
