– Designed especially for the luxury personal recreational vehicle market and
serious towing hobbyists, including those who tow horse trailers or race cars,
the 2001 F-650 Super CrewZer is a multipurpose vehicle that rounds
out the already broad Built Ford Tough F-Series lineup.

“Personal recreational vehicle customers and high-end towing hobbyists spend a
lot of time in their vehicles,” said Larry Savage, Ford Division chassis cab
marketing manager. “These customers want the ability to carry passengers
comfortably, along with a substantial cargo load on the vehicle. So, they
want creature comforts and lots of power, payload and towing capability.”

“The new F-650 Super CrewZer delivers all of this in an awesome,
powerful-looking vehicle,” added Savage. “It’s a powerful addition to our
F-Series lineup.”


The new Super CrewZer is a 194″ wheelbase Lo-Profile vehicle,
with a GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) of 23,000 lbs. and 9,500 lbs. of
on-board payload capability. GCWR (gross combined weight rating with trailer)
is 43,000 lbs. It’s powered by the most powerful engine in Ford’s lineup – a
Caterpillar® 3126B diesel engine with 300 horsepower, 860 lb.-ft. of
torque and an Allison MD 3066 electronically-controlled 6-speed adaptive
shift, double overdrive automatic transmission matched with a 4.33 rear axle
ratio.

Chassis: 8,000 lb. front axle; 15,000 lb. Meritor rear axle;
Hendrickson HAS190 air ride rear suspension; 245/70R 19.5G tires;
19.5×6.75 aluminum disc wheels (polished on both sides); dual 65 gallon fuel
tanks (130 gallon total capacity)


Exterior: Chrome grille & headlight bezels; custom lit exterior
sun-visor; diamond-plated load box with behind-the-cab full-width lockable
storage box, and side-of-vehicle access; custom color-matched front bumper
with fog lamps and recessed tow hooks; 24-inch full fiberglass air foil cab
extender; sliding rear window; three exterior color choices (Toreader Red,
Oxford White and Black); custom mud flaps; hi-mounted brake light; custom
trailer hook-up lights; electric trailer brake controller; three trailer
hitches – 30,000 lb. Draw-Tite removable ball gooseneck, a 22,000 lb. Reese
fifth-wheel hitch, and a 20,000 lb. Reese receiver hitch


Interior: Spacious, air conditioned Ford-built crew cab; heated dual
front captain’s chairs of Nudo® leather trim with embroidered Super
CrewZer logo and full-size map pockets on seat backs; rear forward
fold bench seat of Nudo® leather trim with center arm rest;
leather-wrapped steering wheel; instrument panel-mounted push button shifter;
AM/FM stereo with clock and six-disc CD changer in the I/P; front center
console with simulated wood grain appliqu‚s on lid; wood grain-accented
instrument panel; remote keyless entry


“Beyond power, payload towing capability and good looks, versatility is what
will draw customers to the Super CrewZer,” added Savage. “With so
many standard features and all the unique options we offer, customers can
virtually create a one-of-a-kind vehicle that will fit all their needs.”

AVAILABLE OPTIONS

The Super CrewZer package is also
available with several options from Ford’s partner in manufacturing the
vehicle, Fontaine Modification Company, which will provide final fully
warranted modifications before shipment to dealers. Bostrom optional air-ride
seating with matching leather trim and a 9.5-inch fore and aft adjustment is
offered that replaces driver and passenger seats.


A Llebroc optional crew cab rear sofa is available to replace the factory rear
bench seat in a matching style to the front seat and comes with manual or
power slide option. A custom two-door toolbox is offered, constructed of
durable lightweight tread plate aluminum material. One side of the convenient
double-door opening is large enough for a spare tire. Optional Weathertech
wind and rain deflectors and Hadley air horns in several styles are also
offered.


From Visteon, an optional overhead rear-seat entertainment system provides a
high quality 6.4″ LCD flip-down overhead screen with the popular
Nintendo 64 Game System, television reception, a TV antenna, sound
through vehicle’s speakers and headphones, a universal infrared remote control
with batteries and two sets of wired headphones with volume control.


There is an optional Safety Vision rear-vision monitor and Cobra CB radio and
antennas in various models.


The Super Duty F-650 Super CrewZer is engineered for strength and
capability, comfort and convenience – designed to deliver dependable service
day in and day out with the features customers appreciate in a personal-use
vehicle. It is a limited edition 2001 model year truck – only 300 will be
sold – and is expected to be delivered to dealerships in early November.
