Louisville, KY, September 20,
2000 – Ford Motor Company rolled a new, limited edition Super Duty F-Series

“Producing one million trucks in this segment in just two model years – and
sustaining the customer demand for them – is quite an accomplishment,” said
Bill Osborne, vehicle line director for Ford’s over-8500-pound GVW trucks.
“What better way to celebrate that achievement than by producing a very
special truck for our loyal customers to mark the occasion?”

The 2001 Platinum Edition Ford Super Duty F-250 is offered with the high-end
Lariat trim level and the class-leading interior room of Super Duty’s Crew Cab
configuration. It is also offered as a 4×4 and has a 6-foot, _-inch bed. In
addition to the equipment standard with the Lariat trim level, the Platinum
Edition Super Duty F-250 will offer customers several unique features:

  • Two-tone leather front and rear seats with “Platinum Edition” logo
  • Floor Mats (front and rear) with “Platinum Edition” logo
  • Unique front center console with chrome clip
  • Color-keyed grille
  • Solid chromed bumper
  • Two-tone exterior paint colors of Mineral Gray/Silver Metallic
  • Color-keyed windshield visor
  • Color-keyed door handles and tailgate handle
  • Chrome tubular running boards with platinum-colored step pads
  • Unique platinum-colored Super Duty F-250 badging
  • Special Platinum Edition badging

“The Platinum Edition Super Duty F-Series will be perfect for customers who
are looking for their truck to be tough and capable, but as a limited edition
that will stand apart from the other trucks on the road,” said Lew Echlin,
Ford Division Super Duty F-Series marketing manager. “Platinum Edition
customers will have a Super Duty F-250 with every ounce of ‘Built Ford Tough’
towing power, payloads and interior Crew Cab room, combined with a unique
style and flair.”

The limited edition “Platinum Edition” Super Duty F-250 will be built at
Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville. It will be available primarily to
customers in the Southwest region of the United States beginning next month,
and will carry an MSRP of $1,595 over the price of a regular production Super
Duty F-250 Lariat with the same configuration.
