how about the Ford Cortina  it was a subcompact from the seventies and
sixties sold mostly in europe

And for the Auto Cross guys, the Cortina Lotus.  :-)  I remember well the one my father had.  Sadly it spent more time broken than running but it was a nice "Q-Ship" in it's time.
