I've got a 96' 3.0, and I'm trying to come up with ideas for a cold air
intake.  I've seen the KKM Tru Rev, and looked at adapting a K&N FIPK for a
4.0.....but, I decided that they use a good filter but they pull their air
from the hot engine compartment, not a good thing.  So  I have put a oem
replacement K&N cone filter in the stock air box and will go from there.  Is
that enough, or should I try to get more air to the air box?  And, should I
rework the piping from the air box to the throttle body?  Any one with
experience or CRazY ideas welcomed to respond and/or rebutt.

I have the same exact set up in my '99 3.0.  I was wondering the same thing.
I have my K&N cone filter sitting right in the factory air box with the
top ripped off.  I know that there is a large hole in the front of the air
box, which allows air to be pulled in from the outside.  That is why I
didn't rework anything.  It seems to work well.  I can feel the difference,
I put the old filter on last weekend and it was like a different truck, slow
and unresponsive. K&N FOREVER.  I am also opened for suggestions.
