I have an Aunt that has a 1989 Bronco II with the charcoal gray toip
color and silver sides. The roof was re-painted 3 years ago, as per
warranty. She gave up on it out of aggravation when the hood started a
couple of years ago. Can anyone lend me assistance on what she needs to
do to get the hood and fender tops re-painted by ford and PAID by ford?
The truck is in A1 immacculate shape. She even bought the ZIEBART PAINT
protection when it was new (I know they ripped her off on that!). Can
anyne share their experience or have a similar one? I know it's up in
age... but the rest of it held up. HELLLP!
Thanks!
Mike

Thanx for the info, I told my parents to check with the dealer they bought the
durango from and see if theirs might be on a recall list.
Thanx again

Tee hee... that's what I have. Ford told me that there was a _secret_
"recall" where if you bitched and moaned enough they would repaint it
for you. THAT IS OVER and you should stop wasting nerves and your time
and look for a reliable place that will strip the paint and do a good
paintjob.

Theoretically just just need to strip it down to primer... but since
I'm doing this myself, it's ALL coming off to bare metal and then
I'm doing some bodywork as well. She'll just need a strip+repaint.

Take care.

after i install a trans cooler on my t-5 five-speed i am going to have to
replace my alternator because it is squeeking, it must have ran out of fluid.

also my left front turn signal doesn't work, does that mean the light bulb
bearings are bad...?

Don't know for sure what Ford recommends, but I am going to check tomorrow.
Around here, I've see people running the chains on the rear axle (for
traction aiding), the front axle (for steering and control reasons) or just
the driver's front and passenger's rear, I assume only if they don't have
TracLoc or positraction.

I've only had to use mine twice this year and both times I put them on the
front so that I could aid in control. I figure just about anyone can get
going, it's the stopping and turning that's the trick.

hey dan, thanks for the reply, i think i will change out my 02 sensor, and by
the way i installed a flex fan, its the best thing i ever did, my engine feels
like i just lifted a couple of cinderblocks off it, my throttle response is
super, she snaps into action , and its helped out with the fuel economy but
i dont have the exact figures yet, boy what a difference. well thanks for the
info dan, let me know how your probe does.
