2025 Ford F-150: 10 ‘Hidden’ Features You May Not Know About
These hidden features on the 2025 Ford F-150 can certainly come in handy for those who don’t know they exist.
The current-generation Ford F-150 was treated to a mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 model year, which ushered in a variety of changes including some mild exterior styling updates, along with a larger standard infotainment system, a new standard powertrain, and various other tweaks – but nothing that one might call major. Thus, the 2025 Ford F-150 has arrived with even more minor updates, though as it turns out, also some pretty cool hidden features that we imagine some folks may not be aware of. In this video from TC Customs, hosted by Town & Country Ford Managing Partner, Mitchell Watts, we get a nice rundown of 10 of those hidden features in the 2025 Ford F-150, most of which might prove rather useful to owners who don’t know they even exist.
1. The first lies in the back seat, which hides a storage area behind it. One can simply flip the passenger side portion of the rear seat forward and access a few things including the jack and the fuel funnel nozzle, which enables owners to refuel their pickups using a gas can instead of a pump if they’re stranded somewhere.
2. The second hidden feature present in the 2025 Ford F-150 pertains specifically to PowerBoost hybrid models, which contain a pressurized fuel tank and a refueling door that must be opened via a button in the cabin to gain access to it – unlike the rest of the lineup.
3. However, if you’re locked out of your truck, you can also access a cable underneath the bedside that can open the door, too.
4. On top of that, FordPass now gives dealers the ability to view most of the truck’s diagnostic information remotely, which can certainly come in handy.
5. With the 2025 Ford F-150, BlueCruise is now an option for XLT trims with the 302A and 303A equipment groups, which is great for those who plan to lift their trucks, as the partially autonomous feature could result in issues in those cases if it doesn’t perform the way it should due to those modifications.
6. Easter egg number six is one that many owners are already aware of, however – you can start the truck even if the key fob’s battery is dead by dropping it inside of a slot located in the rearmost cupholder.
7. The next hidden feature is the fact that one can turn off the seat belt reminder chime in the infotainment screen with a simple search, but the next is a bit more serious.
8. As our host points out, the 2025 Ford F-150 utilizes special acoustic laminate glass, as is the case with most new vehicles, and replacing it with cheap aftermarket glass could void the warranty. Speaking of glass, the F-150’s global window feature allows owners to drop them at the same time via the key fob, too.
9. We learn how to reset the SYNC system in the 2025 Ford F-150 in the event that it freezes up or quits working, which can be done via a couple of buttons on the steering wheel.
10. Last, but not least, we learn that Ford has killed off its factory-installed SecuriCode keyless entry keypad on the 2025 F-150, but a dealer-installed alternative is available for those who find this feature to be useful.
