Detailed shots of disassembled cluster with a home-made 5 Volt dash instrument regulator. Still working in 2011. Even with a 14.8V alternator. I might suggest adding a transorb accross the input leads for bulletproofing.

Modifications Stock vibrator and resistor have been replaced with a home-made 5 volt regulator. The gauges now work in the proper portion of their range.
