  • INTERMITTENT/INOPERATIVE INTEGRATED KEYHEAD TRANSMITTER (IKT) – BUILT ON 9/1/2011 AND THROUGH 12/1/2012

ISSUE:

Some 2012-2013 F-150, F-Super Duty, Expedition, Navigator, MKX, Flex, Edge, Explorer, Taurus and Mustang vehicles built on 9/1/2011 and through 12/1/2012 and only equipped with an IKT may exhibit intermittent inoperative operation of the IKT remote functions.

ACTION:

Follow the Service Procedure Steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

  1. Using a thin coin in the slot near the key ring, pry open the IKT case.
  2. Replace the gasket in both of the customers IKTs ensuring the dimples face the battery. (Figure 1)
