This article supersedes TSB 05-18-9 to update the model years.
Some 2005 F-150 and 2006 Mark LT vehicles equipped with the 5.4L 3-valve engine and built prior to 4/20/2005, may exhibit the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) on, or various driveability conditions as follows:
- Slow throttle response
- Hesitation on acceleration (cold)
- Fast engine idle after cold start (does not apply to California emissions vehicles)
- Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0351-P0358
- Hard start/long crank/cranks-no start
Mark LT Only
- DTC P061B with P2106
Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest calibration level using WDS release B36.11 and higher or B37.2 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the B37 CD. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraft.com.
