Publication Date: JUNE 17, 1996

LIGHT TRUCK:
1997 F-150

ISSUE:

The blower motor may be inoperative or the blower motor may be noisy during operation. This may be caused by the formation of ice between the blower motor spacer plate and the blower motor wheel.

Replace the blower motor without installing the spacer plate. Removing the spacer plate will reduce the possibility of ice building up, preventing noise or motor faliure. Refer to the 1997 F-Series Service Manual for removal and installation procedures. Be sure to check the blower motor resistor and/or fuse/relay as outlined in Section 412-02 of the Service Manual and service as required.
